Pennsylvania Women Work (PA Women Work) is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping individuals from diverse backgrounds achieve economic self-sufficiency through job readiness, education, training and employment. PA Women Work provides free services to thousands of women each year.

PA Women Work’s primary emphasis is to provide comprehensive education, job training, and job placement services to single parents, displaced homemakers, low-income heads of households and women in transition through its New Choices Program.

PA Women Work provides both fiscal and programmatic oversight for 13 New Choices (link to the New Choices locations/page) locations across the Commonwealth. The primary course offered by the New Choices program teaches job skills, addresses barriers to employment, and assesses skills and interests.  Program participants are taught how to set realistic goals and are given the tools to help achieve them.

Last year, the New Choices programs assisted over 1500 individuals with job training and placement. Overall, the New Choices program boasts a training and employment rate of 85 percent each year.

Additionally, PA Women Work provides transportation assistance to qualified clients, including bus passes, provides resume review and support, assists clients with online applications and has created the Working Wardrobe clothing closet to provide interview and business appropriate clothing – free of charge – for clients and those in need in the community.

Each year, PA Women Work offers events and workshops that provide useful information and support to help clients, as well as other individuals in the community, on their journey to secure meaningful employment.
